Academically Rich Customized Instruction
Mountain Heights Academy is dedicated to providing an academically rich experience for all of its students. Devoted, accredited teachers create a custom learning environment tailored to allow each student to succeed.
Teachers record lessons that students can watch throughout the week in order to absorb the lesson at their own pace, fast or slow. From there, students complete their weekly work with personal teacher interactions available via video chat, IM, email, text or phone as needed.
Eligible high school juniors and seniors can also participate in the Online Early Access program to earn both university and high school credit through Weber State University, Southern Utah University. Eligible 9-12 grade students have the option of earning credits by exam via Excelsior College.
Because of Mountain Heights Academy’s personalized approach and academic opportunities it provides, the school is ranked 31st in Utah among all high schools on CRT test scores.
Through events such as monthly service-learning activities and school dances, students have opportunities for face-to-face social activities outside of school. Students enjoy their MHA experience and are the school’s primary advocates. Often commenting that they have met friends they otherwise would not have been friends with, students value the social opportunities Mountain Heights Academy provides.
As an online high school, Mountain Heights Academy utilizes the latest technology, which gives students cutting-edge tools to complete their assignments. Each student is issued a laptop at the beginning of the year and the implementation of technology gives Mountain Heights Academy students the tools they need to succeed in today’s competitive market.
Mountain Heights Academy is the recipient of many prestigious awards, including the 2012 Best of State Charter School and the 2011 Best of State Curriculum.
