Mountain Heights Academy is a tuition-free, online public charter school. All students in the state of Utah going into grades 7-12 are eligible to apply for full-time enrollment. We accept new full-time students each quarter—in August, October and January.

Full-time Student Enrollment Process
As a public charter school, we use a computerized lottery program to determine admission. Lotteries are held quarterly, after each open enrollment period.

If you’re accepted, you’ll be notified by email with information about next steps and the timeline.
Please note that if you applied for the previous school year but you weren’t selected through the lottery program, you will need to reapply for the next school year.
Students currently attending Mountain Heights Academy don’t have to reapply through the Open Enrollment process. Instead, you will fill out an Intent to Return form each year to secure your spot. If you do not fill out the Intent to Return by the deadline, your spot will be placed back into the lottery and filled by an incoming student. Incoming siblings of current Mountain Heights Academy students will receive priority preference in the lottery.
